The College of Wooster women's soccer team secured an important North Coast Athletic Conference win on Wednesday night, as its 1-0 decision over Ohio Wesleyan University at the Jay Martin Soccer Complex in Delaware, Ohio, bumped the Fighting Scots into fourth-place in the league standings.

Wooster (10-5-1, 3-3-0 NCAC) now has nine points via its three conference wins, as the Scots are part of a close race for one of the coveted spots in the four-team NCAC Tournament. They have two league games remaining next week.

With a 19-7 shot advantage, Wooster dominated play against Ohio Wesleyan (1-12-1, 0-5-0 NCAC). Also notable, none of the Battling Bishops attempts were on target as Scot 'keeper Carly Eppler didn't even have to produce a save in recording her seventh shutout this year.

Harper Jones accounted for the match's lone goal, coming in the 27th minute. Lily Mohre, who scored a goal herself on Saturday, passed to Jones at the top of the box and the freshman forward fired it in from there. She now leads the Scots in scoring with 11 points, including four goals.

Before Jones's goal, Kennedy Payne nearly netted one during the seventh minute as her shot got past the goalie, but was cleared away by a defender.

The Scots will take a rare late-season dip into non-conference play this Saturday afternoon, with a visit to Case Western Reserve University (7-4-3).
