2015 All-Great Lakes Region Team

Lauren Hancher of The College of Wooster added one last soccer honor to her résumé on Wednesday, as the senior midfielder was named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America NCAA Div. III All-Great Lakes Region Second Team, the NSCAA announced.

It marks the second all-region award for Hancher and an improvement over last season's third-team recognition.

Hancher made an impact all over the pitch again during the 2015 season, most notably on the defensive half where she played an integral role for a Wooster team that ranks 12th statistically in NCAA Div. III shutout percentage (.684), having held 13 of its 19 opponents scoreless. Her ability to win 50-50 balls helped start many of Wooster's offensive runs, and she led the team with 60 shot attempts.

In addition to her two all-region selections, Hancher was all-North Coast Athletic Conference four times in soccer, including first-team honors as a junior and senior. She totaled 33 points (14 goals, 5 assists) during her career, while helping Wooster to four winning seasons and a 40-26-8 overall record (.595).

Hancher, a two-sport standout, is now averaging 15.2 points through six games of the Fighting Scots' basketball season as she looks to pick up a third all-conference certificate in that sport.
