Hancher Selected Second-Team Scholar All-Region by the NSCAA

Lauren Hancher

The College of Wooster's Lauren Hancher was named to the Scholar All-East Region Second Team for women's soccer, as announced by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).

Hancher, a four-year starter in the midfield, played an instrumental role on one of the nation's stingiest defenses as Wooster finished the year 11th nationally in shutout percentage (.684) and 33rd in Div. III with a 0.62 goals-against average. The two-time all-region and four-time all-conference standout added two goals and an assist offensively.

In the classroom, the Cincinnati, Ohio native maintains a 3.65 GPA while majoring in communication sciences and disorders with a minor in education. Additionally, she is part of the National Student Speech-Language and Hearing Association, a service organization for individuals interested in professions related to communication sciences and disorders. Hancher also holds membership in the College's chapter of Lambda Pi Eta, a national communication honor society.

Wooster's soccer team finished with an 11-6-2 record, including a 4-4 mark in North Coast Athletic Conference play.
