An 86th-minute tally from sophomore Caroline Dres salvaged a point for The College of Wooster women's soccer team as the Fighting Scots battled through double overtime to draw Kenyon College 1-1 and remain unbeaten in North Coast Athletic Conference play on Saturday afternoon at Gambier, Ohio.

Off the start, the Scots (4-6-3, 1-0-2 NCAC) paced the offensive action as both Dres and fellow sophomore Emma Lawrence tested Kenyon goalkeeper Jillian Countey with on-target strikes before the five-minute mark.

After play balanced out, a tally from Kenyon's Maggie Smith gave the Ladies (4-5-2, 2-0-1 NCAC) a 1-0 lead in the 23rd minute.

Smith, who received the ball off a free kick near midfield, turned and lofted a well-placed chip over the head of Wooster goalkeeper Carly Eppler for her ninth of the season.

The Ladies maintained the 1-0 advantage going into halftime, while outshooting the Scots 6-5 during the opening 45 minutes.

Wooster upped the offensive pressure with the start of the second half. The Scots recorded eight shots on the half in addition to three corner kicks as Kenyon bunkered down, often with 9 players behind the ball trying to defend the lead.

After a blocked shot from first-year Krissy Blanchard in the 86th minute, first-year Anna Hartig settled the deflection before crossing it into Dres, who placed it in the top left corner from eight yards out for the equalizer and her third goal of the season.

Just under three minutes into the first overtime, sophomore Harper Jones nearly tallied the game-winner, but a save from Countey nullified the opportunity.

An attempt from Hartig in the 96th marked Wooster's final shot in the first overtime.

The Scots tallied two shots in the second overtime period, including a shot on target from goalkeeper Eppler, who placed one on frame in the game's closing seconds.

The draw marks Wooster's third of the season and the second-consecutive late-game tally to salvage a point on the road.

The Scots return to Carl Dale Field on Wednesday for a 4 p.m. match against Denison University (6-3-3, 3-0-0 NCAC).
