Emma Lawrence

The College of Wooster's Emma Lawrence was named to the NCAA Div. III All-Ohio Second Team, as announced by the Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association on Tuesday afternoon.

Lawrence, a two-sport athlete in soccer and lacrosse, posted a breakout year on the pitch in 2016 en route to garnering her first All-North Coast Athletic Conference certificate as a First-Team selection. The sophomore center back started all 19 contests and proved herself as a defensive keystone for a young Wooster squad that sported an eight-game home unbeaten streak dating back to the 2015 campaign.

On the offensive end, Lawrence tallied two assists, delivering the opener in Wooster's 2-1 victory over Ohio Wesleyan University (Oct. 18) while helping initiate a three-goal Wooster scoring spree with a second-half assist in the Scots' 3-1 comeback win over Hiram (Sept. 24).

Wooster's soccer team finished with a record of 6-9-4, including a 5-2-2 home record and a 3-2-3 record in conference play.
