The College of Wooster women's soccer team scored three unanswered goals to claim a 3-1 comeback win over Frostburg State University as part of the team's final match of the DoubleTree Tartan Cup hosted by Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pa.

With the victory, the Fighting Scots (1-0-1) enter next week's home opener unbeaten through the season's first two games for the first time since the 2015 campaign.

Finding themselves down just 12 minutes in, Wooster rebounded just before the first half's close. Sophomore Krissy Blanchard tallied her third career goal and second in as many games with a near-post volley off the corner from sophomore Kelsey Hall.

In the second half, Wooster scored twice within three minutes. The game-winner came in the 51st after sophomore Krenare Rakoci struck it left-footed and low to the far post off the feed from junior Devin Frisby. The tally marked the first career collegiate goal for the sophomore forward out of Hoffman Estates, Ill.

Riding the momentum, Wooster tacked on an insurance tally in the 54th minute, as junior Erica White flicked a 40-yard free-kick feed from classmate Emma Lawrence over the goalkeeper from six yards out.

Wooster emerged from Pittsburgh unbeaten after a 1-1 double overtime draw against Bridgewater (Va.) College the previous night while Frostburg State (0-2-0) left the Steel City winless after dropping their opener 1-0 to No. 22 Carnegie Mellon on Friday.

For Wooster, junior Maddy Ireton played a full 90 minutes in goal to earn the victory. As for Wooster's defense, again the rear contingent shined, letting only two shots on goal on Saturday after allowing three the previous night against Bridgewater.

As a team, Wooster outshot the Bobcats 9-4, including 6-2 in shots on goal. Of note, each Wooster student-athlete who recorded a shot on goal tallied a point.

Up next, Wooster hosts John Carroll on Wednesday, Sept. 6 at 5 p.m. at Carl Dale Memorial Field.
