The College of Wooster women's soccer team, the ninth-ranked team in the United Soccer Coaches' Great Lakes Region, lost 2-0 to Adrian College on Saturday afternoon at Adrian, Mich., marking an end to the Fighting Scots' unbeaten season and best start since 2009.

Wooster (3-1-2) fell behind 1-0 in the 29th minute, as Adrian's Mya Oleksiak watched her shot roll across the goal line after bouncing inward off the near post.

The Bulldogs (4-2-1) doubled their advantage in the 69th minute on a header from Mackenzie Wilcox off the feed from Claire Baghera.

Offensive opportunities were kept to a minimum for the Scots after being held to six total shots. Adrian, meanwhile, fired off 14 on the day. Of note, each squad tallied three shots on target.

Reigning North Coast Athletic Conference Player-of-the-Week Maddy Ireton finished with one save. Logging shots on goal for the Scots were sophomore Krenare Rakoci, junior Emma Lawrence, and first-year Meghan Badge.

Up next, Wooster resumes non-conference play against Ohio Northern University (4-1-1), the seventh-ranked team in the Great Lakes Region, on Tuesday, Sept. 19 at 5 p.m. at Carl Dale Memorial Field.
