WOOSTER, Ohio – The College of Wooster women's soccer team lost 4-0 to fellow regionally-ranked Ohio Northern University on Tuesday afternoon at Carl Dale Memorial Field.

The Polar Bears (5-1-1), ranked third in the latest United Soccer Coaches Great Lakes Regional Poll released Tuesday, delivered Wooster's first home loss of the season.

With the win, Ohio Northern evened the all-time series between the two programs at four wins each.

Ranked 10th in the latest coaches' poll, the Fighting Scots (3-2-2) fell behind in the 14th minute on an unassisted upper-90 strike from Haley Moses, as she placed it above junior goalkeeper Maddy Ireton for the game-winner.

Before that, Wooster junior Erica White found herself with a solid opportunity in the fourth minute but was ultimately stretched too far to make solid contact before seeing her shot falling straight into the 'keeper's arms.

Ohio Northern's Jenna Fuller made it 2-0 in the 32nd minute after corralling a Wooster defensive clearance and quickly getting the ball off her feet and into the net.

The Polar Bears added two more within a six-minute span in the second half, including a 20-yard rip by Rose Neinaber.

Ireton faced six shots on goal while first-year Molly Hutter earned nearly 14 minutes of playing time to end the second half as part of her second collegiate appearance.

Wooster now turns its attention to DePauw University as part of the Scots' North Coast Athletic Conference opener scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 23 at 1 p.m.
