A second-half resurgence fueled by back-to-back goals put The College of Wooster women's soccer team on a 2-0 start in North Coast Athletic Conference play as the Fighting Scots defeated Ohio Wesleyan University 2-1 on Saturday afternoon at Jay Martin Soccer Complex in Delaware, Ohio.

Wooster (5-3-2, 2-0-0 NCAC) conceded the game's opener in the 29th minute after a Wooster defender crossed it over Scot goalkeeper Maddy Ireton and into the net for an own goal.

By the half's end, the Scots outshot Ohio Wesleyan (5-3-2, 0-1-1 NCAC) 5-4.

Down 1-0 to start the final 45 minutes, Wooster came out swinging, tallying two goals on three shots within 18 minutes.

First-year Miura Wiley got the Scots on the board with her first collegiate goal in the 54th minute as the newcomer out of Cheshire, Conn. buried the through-ball from sophomore Claire Davis, who did well to deliver it behind Ohio Wesleyan's backline for the open finish.

The Scots doubled down on their very next shot nearly nine minutes later. This time, Davis proved the scorer – her second goal of the season – off the assist from classmate Kelsey Hall, marking her first collegiate assist.

Hall, who recorded her first and second collegiate career goals last week, delivered the cross into the box as Davis finished in the 63rd minute.

Both sides fired three shots in the second half as Ireton made two key saves in the final 45 minutes, part of her game-total four, to preserve the win.

The Scots move to 2-0 in the conference for the first time since the 2015 campaign, with both NCAC wins this season coming in second-half comeback fashion sparked by first career collegiate goals.

Up next, Wooster travels to Case Western Reserve University on Tuesday, Oct. 3 for a 7:30 p.m. kick-off.
