First-year Kylie Hawkins scored her first and second collegiate career goals as part of a three-goal unanswered run to help guide The College of Wooster women's soccer team to a 3-2 second-half comeback victory over Hiram College on Wednesday night at Henry Field in Hiram, Ohio.

With 10 points through six games, Wooster (6-6-3, 3-2-1 North Coast Athletic Conference) improves to second-place in the conference standings, ahead of Allegheny College (9 points) and Wittenberg University (9 points), who have both played one less game than Wooster. DePauw University, who Wooster defeated 3-1 on Sept. 23, also stands with nine points through six games played.

Hiram (3-10-1, 1-4-0 NCAC) took control of an overall offensive showcase with first-half goals from Courtney Wendel and Sophie Bell. Wendel's came in the 18th minute off the assist from teammate Hannah Ward.

After Hiram's Emily Syrjala witnessed her shot hit the post in the 33rd minute, Bell knocked in the rebound 11 seconds later to go up 2-0 before the break.

Each side went into halftime with seven shots, with four landing on target for Wooster and two for Hiram.

Nearly 20 minutes into the second half, the wheels began to come off for the Terriers, as Miranda Miracle contributed to an own goal to halve the Scots' deficit at 2-1 in the 65th.

Eight minutes later, Hawkins leveled it at 2-2 as she converted on a loose ball in the box for her first collegiate goal. Riding the momentum of a two-goal spree, Hawkins delivered the dagger on a header off the corner from junior Devin Frisby to put the Scots up 3-2 in the 84th minute.

Hawkins' two-goal performance marks the second brace of the year for the Scots, while Frisby becomes the first Scot to reach five assists in the season since Carly Joliat did in 2014.

Wooster witnessed nine of its 15 total shots land on frame, compared to Hiram's five of 10. Junior goalkeeper Maddy Ireton recorded three saves.

With two regular-season games remaining, Wooster travels to Denison University (5-5-4, 1-2-2 NCAC) on Saturday, Oct. 21, for a noon match-up before hosting Allegheny (6-8-0, 3-2-0 NCAC) on Tuesday, Oct. 24, at 4 p.m. at Carl Dale Memorial Field.
