Women's Soccer To Travel To Centre For NCAA Tournament

The College of Wooster women's soccer team earned an automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championships and will travel to Centre College this weekend to face the Colonels in the first round.

The University of Chicago (13-4-1) and Grove City College (16-3-1) will meet on the other side of the bracket.

Wooster and Centre will play at 11 a.m. Saturday. Chicago and Grove City will follow, and the winners of both games will meet at 1 p.m. Sunday for the second round game.

The Scots enter with a 13-3-3 record after winning their first North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament to earn their spot in the field. Centre is undefeated at 19-0 after winning the Southern Athletic Association regular season and tournament championships.

Historically, the teams have met three times as Centre holds a 2-1 lead in the all-time series.

This will be Wooster's third trip to the NCAA Tournament and its first since 1996. They lost 2-1 to Heidelberg University in 1996 and 1-0 to the University of Mary Washington in 1992.

Ticket prices are $6 for adults, $3 for seniors and students and $2 for ages 3-12. Children three and under get in free.
