The most challenging stretch in The College of Wooster's schedule continued Thursday, as the Fighting Scots competed against their third regionally-ranked opponent in a row, this time resulting in a 9-0 setback to Denison University at Granville, Ohio.

Denison (7-7), which entered the match ranked seventh in the regional rankings and No. 26 in the nation, surrendered just 12 games on the day, although there were some bright spots for the Scots (5-9).

At No. 1 doubles, Rachel Molé and Catherine Boyles paired up for just the second time this season and posted solid results, as they won three games in an 8-3 defeat, while Rachel Appleton and Rachel Dietz took two games in an 8-2 loss at the third-spot.

Also noteworthy, Appleton won a game in the first and second set of her match at No. 6 singles before bowing out 6-1, 6-1.

Wooster will get Allegheny College (8-6, 0-1 NCAC East) next, as the two North Coast Athletic Conference East foes are scheduled to meet Saturday at 1 p.m. in Meadville, Pa.
