The College of Wooster women's tennis team ended the regular season with another statement win, as it dispatched its second straight opponent by a 7-2 margin, with this one coming against Baldwin Wallace University on Monday afternoon at the DJ Hard Tennis Courts.

The Fighting Scots (7-11) are on a roll heading into this weekend's North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament, as they also took down rival Wittenberg University 7-2 just days ago and were every bit as strong today against the Yellow Jackets (7-14).

Wooster took a 2-1 lead after doubles action, with the most decisive win coming at the No. 3 spot, where Laura Kummer and Kimberly Carter cruised to an 8-3 triumph. The number-one pairing of Rachel Molé and Catherine Christian upped their season record to 10-5 with Wooster's other doubles victory, an 8-6 decision.

Then the Scots proceeded to go 5-1 in singles competition, where the team's lone senior Rachel Appleton stood out by giving up just three games in a dominant 6-2, 6-1 win at the sixth-spot.

There were other convincing victories, including Kummer at No. 4 (6-4, 6-0) and Molé at No. 1 (6-4, 6-1), while No. 2 Rose Chiumento won 6-1, 7-6 (7-2) and No. 5 Catherine Boyles prevailed 6-2, 7-6 (8-6) - both getting the job done in two sets via tiebreakers.

Wooster, which earned the sixth seed in the NCAC Tournament, will take on third-seeded Oberlin College (11-8, 3-0 NCAC) in a quarterfinal match-up Friday at Granville, Ohio. The action starts at 3:30 p.m.
