The College of Wooster, which hadn't played a match in nearly a month, made a statement in its return to the court Saturday, as the Fighting Scots dominated Westminster College's unbeaten women's tennis team by a 7-2 count in a non-conference match-up at the Scot Center courts.

Wooster (1-1), which plays the majority of its matches during the spring, went head-to-head with a team that's nearing the end of its season, as Westminster entered today's contest with an 11-0 record, including an 8-0 mark in the Presidents' Athletic Conference. That didn't seem to intimidate the Scots, as they put together a convincing win to give the Titans their first blemish of the year.

In doubles, the Scots took two of three, as Rachel Molé and Catherine Christian won 8-4 at No. 1 and Catherine Boyles and Elizabeth Brewington were victorious 8-4 at the third-spot in the lineup.

Wooster's winning ways continued in singles, as Molé and Christian carried over their momentum to defeat their opponents at the top of the order. Mole needed just two sets to win 6-2, 6-4 at No. 1 singles, while No. 2 Christian edged out her opponent in three, 6-2, 4-6, 1-0 (10-7).

Rose Chiumento also won a three-setter at No. 3 singles, 3-6, 6-2, 1-0 (10-6), while No. 4 Morgan Wagers and No. 6 Bonnie Salmeron both triumphed by scores of 6-2, 7-5 and 6-1, 6-1, respectively.

The Scots will be off for the winter and return in the spring, beginning with a match at John Caroll University (2-0) on Feb. 20.
