The College of Wooster women's tennis team gained valuable experience this weekend at the unscored Oberlin Invitational.
Junior Dora Mase led the Scots with a pair of singles wins on the weekend. First, she topped Allegheny College's Alissa Hill 6-3, 6-2 before beating the Gators' Abby Lange 7-5, 6-1. Mase would team with first-year Aditi Sringeri in doubles play to defeat Lange and Allie Grenece 8-5.
The College added two more wins in doubles play, both of which also came against Allegheny. Sophomores Kate Connors and Morgan Wagers defeated a split team consisting of one player each from Allegheny and Baldwin Wallace University 8-1. Sophomore Bonnie Salmeron and first-year Kaitlyn Harrison picked up the final win of the weekend with an 8-3 triumph over Lange and Jasmine Burton.
The College is playing without No. 1 singles player Rachel Molé, who is studying abroad.
Wooster returns to action with a home dual-match with the University of Mount Union (0-0) on Friday, Sept. 25 at 4 p.m.
note: The doubles win by Connors and Wagers does not count in season win/loss totals due to their pairing being from different institutions.
