Wooster Wraps Up Fall Play at ITA Regional Tournament

The College of Wooster women's tennis team concluded its fall slate at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Regional Tournament this weekend in Kalamazoo, Mich.

Wooster, which faced tough competition all weekend, including a Friday's doubles-match against the 14th seed in the tournament, recorded three wins in the consolation bracket of the "B" singles draw.

Morgan Wagers recorded a 6-2, 6-0 win over Wittenberg University's Haley Jackson. Wagers, who dropped her opening singles match to DePauw University's Libby Grant, would bow out of the tournament in the quarterfinal of the consolation bracket to a competitor from Kenyon College.

Bonnie Salmeron added a 6-0, 6-2 triumph over Monmouth University's Anna McDermott before bowing out to Kenyon's Jenna Murray 6-0, 6-0.

Kaitlyn Harrison gave Kenyon's Claire Cohen a tough test in the first round before ultimately falling 6-4, 6-4. She would follow with a 6-0, 6-1 victory over The Principia's Hallie Jones before dropping a 6-1, 6-1 count in the consolation quarterfinals.

The women's tennis team returns to action in mid-February.
