Rachel Molé delivered a decisive victory for The College of Wooster women's tennis team at the top of the singles lineup, but No. 38 ranked Oberlin College overcame that setback for an 8-1 triumph in the squads' North Coast Athletic Conference East Division opener, which was moved inside to the Scot Center due to rain, on Wednesday.

Not only did Molé win, but she dominated Oberlin's (10-7, 1-0 NCAC) Mayada Audeh, who was No. 24 in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association NCAA Div. III Central Region rankings, as the former only lost two games in the 6-2, 6-0 match. It marked the junior's first career win over a regionally-ranked opponent.

Unfortunately, the rest of the team did not fare as well for the Fighting Scots, who were playing a nationally-ranked foe for the third time in four matches. Noteworthy, Morgan Wagers and Katie Kuzmishin did challenge their opponents at No. 2 doubles before succumbing 8-4.

Wooster's challenging schedule continues next Wednesday with a visit from Kenyon College (8-9, 0-0 NCAC East), which is among the top-20 as a team in the regional rankings.
