On Wednesday, The College of Wooster women's tennis team played outdoors for the first time since its spring break trip, welcoming North Coast Athletic Conference East Division foe and regionally-ranked Kenyon College to D.J. Hard Memorial Courts, where the Ladies walked away with a 9-0 decision.
It marked the continuation of a highly-challenging schedule, as Wooster (3-14, 0-2 NCAC East) was playing an opponent among the top-20 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's NCAA Div. III Central Region rankings for the fourth time in five matches, all without its No. 1 singles player Catherine Christian.
After being swept in the doubles, the Fighting Scots had a few notable performances during singles play. Most impressive, Morgan Wagers nearly scored a team point at No. 2, as the sophomore won the first set 6-4 before dropping the next 6-3 and falling in a super tiebreaker 10-4.
Elizabeth Brewington and Anne Sophie Haanen both won a pair of games during the first set of their matches at No. 4 and No. 5, respectively.
Wooster will play its third NCAC divisional match in a row on Saturday with a visit to Allegheny College (3-10, 0-1 NCAC East).
