The College of Wooster women's tennis team lost three hotly-contested doubles matches in an eventual 7-2 loss at Baldwin Wallace University on Monday afternoon at Berea, Ohio.

Wooster (3-16) jumped ahead in all three doubles matches, only to lose in heartbreaking fashion at each position – 9-7 at No. 1, 8-6 at No. 2, and 9-8 (7-5) at No. 3.

The 3-0 deficit was ultimately too much to overcome during singles play. Rachel Molé provided the Fighting Scots a team point with a decisive 6-4, 6-1 triumph at the top flight, and Katie Kuzmishin was equally impressive in a 6-0, 6-4 triumph at the fourth spot.

Anne Sophie Haanen closed the match by nearly scoring another point for Wooster, as she overcame a bad first set to push fifth singles to a third set, but she eventually fell 6-1, 5-7, 10-8.

The Scots will close out their regular season this Friday against Ohio Wesleyan University (6-5).
