The College of Wooster women's tennis team continued its strong recent success in doubles play, and rebounded from a 6-3 setback to regionally-ranked Saint Olaf College on Monday with a convincing 7-2 win over the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh on Tuesday to cap the team's spring break trip at Hilton Head Island, S.C. with a 3-1 mark.

Wooster (5-4) won five of its doubles matches over the last two contests to run its doubles record to 14-1 over the last five matches.

Against St. Olaf, Wooster's double play staked the Scots to a 2-1 lead after 8-4 and 8-2 triumphs were turned in respectively by senior Elizabeth Brewington and first-year Joy Li at the second flight and senior Dora Mase and first-year Shannon Sertz at the No. 3 position.

On Tuesday, Brewington and Li turned in a convincing 8-2 win in the second flight against Oshkosh while both the Nos. 1 and 3 flights came down to tiebreakers with the Scots turning in impressive wins in both. In the top flight, senior Rachel Molé and junior Morgan Wagers prevailed 9-8 (3) with Mase and Sertz following shortly after with a 9-8 (5) win.

In singles action, Li led the way with an two big wins. The first-year was the lone Scot to win in singles play against St. Olaf as she only dropped two games during a 6-0, 6-2 triumph. Then, against Oshkosh, Li moved up to the top flight and beat the Titans' Baily Sagen 6-0, 6-3.

Notable, the Scots dropped five or fewer games in their other three singles wins against the Titans as Sertz, Wagers, and first-year Mali Zemedkun all won their respective first sets 6-4 at the third, fourth, and sixth flights. Wagers went on to not drop a game in her second set while Sertz and Zemedkun closed out their respective matches with 6-1 second sets.
