WOOSTER, Ohio -- The College of Wooster women's tennis team posted a 9-0 sweep over Wittenberg University on Friday evening at the Scot Center tennis courts, as the Fighting Scots did not drop a set against the visiting Tigers.

Winning by 8-3 decisions in doubles were senior Rachel Molé and junior Morgan Wagers at the No. 1 position as well as first-year Shannon Sertz and senior Dora Mase at the No. 3 spot. Senior Elizabeth Brewington and first-year Joy Li extended their unbeaten stretch at No. 2 doubles to seven matches with an 8-4 victory – the most games a Wittenberg (5-10) opponent would earn in a set all night.

In singles, Molé  was the first to shake hands after a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 2. Sertz, meanwhile, clinched the win for the Scots (6-5) with a 6-1, 6-0 win at the No. 4 position. Winning at No. 1 and No. 3 respectively were Li (6-1, 6-2) and Wagers (6-2, 6-2).

Competing in eight-game pro-sets were Brewington and first-year Mali Zemedkun, as Brewington blanked Witt's Nora Jacobson 8-0 at No. 5 singles while Zemedkun wrapped up the evening with an 8-3 win at No. 6.

Of note, today's win is the first 9-0 victory for the Scots since Feb. 13, 2016, when they defeated Heidelberg University - all in straight sets - at Lexington, Ohio.

Up next, Wooster opens North Coast Athletic Conference East Division competition at Oberlin College (8-9) on April 7 at 4:30 p.m.
