Molé Earns Third Career NCAC Player-of-the-Week Honor

Rachel Molé

Everything fell the Fighting Scots' way this weekend and senior Rachel Molé has something to show for it, as the senior standout went 4-0 over the weekend to earn her third career North Coast Athletic Conference Player-of-the-Week accolade, as announced by the league office Monday afternoon.

Molé went 2-0 at No. 1 doubles with partner Morgan Wagers and bolstered that with a perfect 2-0 record at No. 2 singles to help the Fighting Scots (8-8, 0-3 NCAC East) finish the regular season at .500 for the first time since the 2003-04 campaign.

On Saturday against Ohio Wesleyan University, Molé doubled down on an 8-3 doubles win with a three-set singles victory (6-4, 1-6, 6-1) to earn a valuable point in the Scots' first win over the Battling Bishops since 2014.

In Wooster's sweep over Heidelberg University the following day, Molé moved into a tie for first-place all-time in program history in career wins at No. 1 doubles with 36, drawing level with 1989 alumna Jennifer Lister.

In addition, with two singles wins on the weekend, Molé moved into a tie for eighth-place all-time in program history in career singles wins with 39, and now stands in fourth-place all-time in career combined wins with 84.
