Five student-athletes from The College of Wooster women's tennis team earned Intercollegiate Tennis Association Scholar-Athlete recognition for the 2016-17 season, as announced by the organization on Tuesday.

Recent graduates Elizabeth Brewington and Rachel Molé, both four-time honorees, were joined by fellow alumna Dora Mase and first-years Joy Li and Shannon Sertz.

The ITA's annual recognition highlights scholar-athletes who achieved at least a 3.50 GPA for the academic year and were a varsity letterwinner for the season. Earlier this summer, each of the three seniors was named to the North Coast Athletic Conference Academic Honor Roll.

On the court, the Fighting Scots finished with their best winning percentage since the 2003-04 season while notching the most wins in a year since the 2012-13 campaign. Additionally, Molé entered the program's record books as the winningest doubles player at No. 1 with 37 while Li became the third Scot in the last five years to garner North Coast Athletic Conference Newcomer of the Year.

Collectively, the Scots were honored as an ITA All-Academic Team for maintaining a cumulative team grade-point average of 3.20 or above.
