Further up the lineup, sophomore Joy Li had a 6-0, 6-0 win over Mount Vernon Nazarene in the first flight that was backed up by first-year Sarah Duran 6-0, 6-1 triumph in her first collegiate dual-match. Sophomore Shannon Sertz rounded out the Mount Vernon Nazarene singles matches with a 6-1, 6-2 win out of the third flight.

In the nightcap, Li didn't drop a game in the first set, and followed that up with a 6-4 second frame. At No. 2 singles, Duran emerged victorious 6-1, 6-3, while Sertz made quick work of the Crusaders at the third flight with matching scores of 6-1.

In doubles play, Li and Wagers turned in 8-3 and 8-2 outings in the first flight, while Haley and Sertz shutout Mount Vernon Nazarene 8-0 before rolling past Capital 8-3 in the second flight. First-year Kendra Devereux teamed up with Duran in the third flight for 8-3 and 8-5 wins.
