Joy Li

Sophomore Joy Li earned her first career North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week award after posting a combined 3-1 record as part of an undefeated weekend for the Fighting Scots.

Li remained perfect on the year at No. 1 singles, extending her record to 6-0 with a 7-6 (2), 0-6, 1-0 (8) win over Calvin College's Leah Newhof before taking down Marietta University's Victoria Xie, 6-0, 6-0. Notably, Li's 0-6 second-set loss to Newhof was her first dropped set of the season in singles dual match play.

At No. 1 doubles, Li and partner Morgan Wagers went 1-1 on the week after losing their first match of the season, 8-5, to Calvin before rebounding with an 8-0 victory over Marietta. On the year, the duo is 5-1.

As a team, Wooster defeated Calvin 5-4 and Marietta 9-0 on Saturday at Aspen Racquet Club in Wooster, Ohio, to improve to 5-1 overall.
