Senior Otilia Oita was named North Coast Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week for her performance leading The College of Wooster women's tennis team to a 5-4 win over John Carroll University.

Oita gave the Scots a pair of wins in both premier matches of the No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles flights.

First, she teamed with junior Janaki Jagannathan for an 8-2 doubles win. Later, she held on to win in straight sets against Madeline Kavenagh, 6-2, 7-6 (2).

Surprisingly, this is the first time the three-time All-NCAC honoree has been selected for Athlete of the Week.

Oita and the Scots (1-1) will return to play Friday when they travel to Case Western Reserve University.
