On the latter half of their spring break trip, The College of Wooster women's tennis team went 1-2.
The Scots defeated Western New England University 8-1 with their only loss coming of a retirement in the No. 6 singles flight.
Janaki Jagannathan and Abby Aitken had perfect outings with 6-0, 6-0 wins in the No. 2 and No. 3 singles flights, respectively. Jagannathan and Otilia Oita at No. 1 doubles and Aitken and Abby Williams at No. 2 doubles also took 8-0 wins.
In the final doubles flight, Margaret Steward and Naledi Jani won 8-1.
At No. 1 singles, Oita took a 6-1, 7-5 win. Steward won a first set tiebreaker took a 7-6 (5), 6-4 win at the No. 4 flight.
Finally, Jani won 6-4, 6-2 in the No. 5 flight.
In the team's 6-3 loss to Lake Forest College, Oita and Jagannathan gave Wooster all its points. First, they teamed in the No. 1 flight with an 8-4 win.
In singles play, Oita won 6-4, 6-2 in the No. 1 flight, and Jagannathan won 6-3, 6-2 in the No. 2 flight.
On Monday, Wooster fell to Grinnell College 8-1 in its final match of its trip. Jagannathan got the team's lone win, 6-1, 6-1, in the No. 2 flight.
Wooster (3-9) will next see action April 3 when they travel to Kenyon College to open North Coast Athletic Conference play.
