For the second time this season The College of Wooster notched wins over Ohio Wesleyan University and Oberlin College, this time topping the Battling Bishops 3-1 (26-28, 25-23, 25-18, 25-15) and the Yeowomen 3-2 (23-25, 25-19, 18-25, 25-17, 15-9) on Saturday to start its weekend clash with the North Coast Athletic Conference in Richmond, Ind.

The Fighting Scots (17-6, 8-3 NCAC) dropped their opening set with Ohio Wesleyan despite holding a nine point lead (18-9), but battled back to win their next three straight sets, including two decisive wins to close out the match. Senior KateLynn Riley led Wooster with 26 kills and a remarkable .533 hitting percentage, and sophomore Lizzi Beal dished out 52 assists and added three service aces in the win.

In Wooster's later match with Oberlin, Riley smashed down a career-high 34 kills and added seven total blocks to lead the Scots to a dramatic five set victory. Riley made just three errors on her 64 attempts, and now has a .379 hitting percentage on the season. Back court standouts Margaret Raabe and Kelley Johnson were both instrumental in the match, combining to rack up six service aces and 27 digs, while Melissa Morgan added 19 digs and a block.

League action will continue on into Sunday when the Scots meet Denison College (5-16, 4-3 NCAC) at 12 p.m. and Allegheny College (12-13, 6-5 NCAC) at 4 p.m. Wooster has not played Denison this season, but did defeat Allegheny in five sets on Oct. 14 at home.
