With a season-high 51 kills and .305 hitting percentage, The College of Wooster volleyball team proved to be too much for Kalamazoo College on Saturday, as it outlasted the Hornets 3-2, highlighting the Fighting Scots' results at the Mount Union Purple Raider Classic in Alliance, Ohio. Overall, the Scots went 1-3.

Following a slow start to the season by her standards, Paige Parker is clearly back on track, as she led the team with 31 kills on the weekend, including a season-high 15 while guiding the Scots (4-9) to marathon victory over Kalamazoo (7-3). Parker also added 13 digs and a solo block in the win.

She wasn't alone, though, as several other Scots chipped in strong offensive performances, including Erica Skillman's second double-double this year with 10 kills and a career-high 18 assists, along with two service aces.

Lydia Webster hit a team-high .375 with eight kills, while Zoe Zwegat added seven kills and six blocks (1 solo, 5 assists), and Lois Kimmel with a season-high six kills and zero errors.

Also noteworthy, Brittany Nicholson passed out 23 assists and Kaitlin Banko had 26 digs, helping Wooster to a 20-25, 25-18, 25-13, 22-25, 15-11 triumph.

The Scots were dealt a pair of setbacks Friday, as Alma College (25-23, 25-16, 25-20) and Hanover College (25-15, 25-17, 25-10) each won 3-0, and then Saturday, Wooster came up short against Transylvania (25-18, 25-10, 25-20), in addition to its win over Kalamazoo.

For the weekend, Parker (32), Skillman (24), and Webster (23) paced the team in kills, while Nicholson (33), Skillman (30), and Sell (21) were the assist leaders. The Scots totaled 26 blocks during the four-match stretch, with Zwegat (7 solo, 9 assists), Anna Emmick (1 solo, 6 assists), and Kimmel (7 assists) leading the charge.

Next Saturday, Wooster will take on North Coast Athletic Conference rival Wittenberg University and Heidelberg University in a tri-match at Springfield, Ohio.
