The College of Wooster volleyball team came up short against Hiram College on Saturday, as the Terriers swept the Fighting Scots 25-16, 25-20, 25-19 in a North Coast Athletic Conference tilt at Hiram, Ohio.

The Scots (5-15, 0-4 NCAC) have been slowed against NCAC opponents so far this season, but the schedule certainly has something to do with it. Wooster, which was ranked No. 5 in the NCAC Preseason Coaches' Poll, has already played the top-four teams in that poll, and will get their shot at the bottom half in the weeks to come.

Catherine Benton led Wooster in kills (5) and hitting percentage (.333), and Kaitlin Banko chipped in a game-high 15 digs, but it wasn't enough to slow down Hiram (13-6, 3-0 NCAC).

The Scots were strong at the service line, though, totaling their third-most aces (6) on the season despite it only being a three-set match. Lydia Webster paced the squad with two aces, while Banko, Brittany Nicholson, Paige Parker, and Sarah Roth each added one.

Nicholson and Rachel Sell passed out 11 and 10 assists, respectively, and Anna Emmick and Erica Skillman both contributed three total blocks.

Wooster (5-15, 0-4 NCAC) will play Ohio Northern University (11-7) on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
