WOOSTER, Ohio – The College of Wooster volleyball team got a chance to showcase its depth in a rather one-sided match against Wayne College, a branch of The University of Akron, on Thursday evening at Timken Gymnasium, and Anna Emmick stood out with a career-high 10 kills and three solo blocks while leading the Fighting Scots to a 25-15, 25-9, 25-14 victory.

The Scots (6-16) played with their normal lineup early on, but once they began to pull away, they were able to experiment by letting some younger players gain experience. Emmick took her opportunity and ran with it, as she piled up 10 kills, mostly in the second and third sets, while Lois Kimmel (4 kills) and Megan Mey (3 kills) also asserted themselves in the attack.

Wooster totaled seven service aces on the day, with newcomers Mey and Laura Sherer each contributing two.

Seniors Paige Parker and Erica Skillman also got a chance to shine, as Parker chipped in five kills, seven digs, and even played libero down the stretch, and Skillman added eight kills and 15 assists.

Next up, Wooster gets back to its North Coast Athletic Conference slate as it hosts Kenyon College (0-14, 0-3 NCAC) on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
