Coming off a lengthy five-set victory the night before, The College of Wooster volleyball team came up short in two similar matches Saturday, as it was edged by Oberlin College in another five-setter, and then fell to Adrian College in four sets, during a tri-match at Oberlin, Ohio.

Exactly like they did against Ohio Wesleyan University less than 24 hours prior, the Fighting Scots (8-20, 2-5 NCAC) lost their opening set against Oberlin (10-16, 4-4 NCAC) , then won the second and third, only to lose the fourth, and set up a fifth-set tiebreaker. This time, though, Wooster was bested 15-11, and then in its next match against Adrian (11-15), it wound up on the wrong end of a 25-17, 22-25, 25-12, 25-19 decision.

Erica Skillman led the hitters with 18 kills on the day, and Zoe Zwegat was next in line with 16 kills and 12 total blocks. Paige Parker had a nice all-around afternoon, with 13 kills, 21 digs, and six service aces, with a career-high five coming against Oberlin.

Other notable contributors were Lydia Webster with 11 kills, 10 which came against Oberlin, Brittany Nicholson racked up 38 assists, and Kaitlin Banko added 20 digs.

The Scots will look to get back into the win column when they host Allegheny College (8-17, 1-6 NCAC) in their final regular season home game Wednesday at 7 p.m.
