The College of Wooster had mixed results during the second day of the North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament, as it lost a closely-contested three-setter with Kenyon College, but then powered past Allegheny College 3-1 in the seventh-place match to wrap up its season Saturday at the Pam Evans Smith Arena in Springfield, Ohio.

The Fighting Scots (10-23) had Kenyon (3-23) right where they wanted them in all three sets, as they led 17-15 in set one, 7-1 in the second set, and 16-10 in the third, but each time the Ladies battled back to win in an eventual 25-21, 25-22, 26-24 setback.

Wooster dropped its initial set with Allegheny (8-22) by a narrow 25-23 margin, but then it took control with three-straight wins, 25-21, 25-23, and 25-19.

Several Scots played well against the Gators, including Paige Parker, who smashed down a season-high 19 kills with just three errors on 43 attempts (.372 hitting percentage). Lydia Webster had a double-double with 10 kills and 12 digs, and Erica Skillman also chipped in 10 kills, while Anna Emmick added seven. Lastly, Brittany Nicholson set a new career-high in assists with 48.

Earlier, against Kenyon, Rachel Sell had a game-high 13 digs, and Zoe Zwegat put an exclamation point on her season with 10 total blocks (1 solo, 9 assists).
