WOOSTER, Ohio – The College of Wooster earned an exciting victory over Albion College on Friday evening, and in doing so, gave head coach Sarah Davis her 130th career win, making her the winningest coach in the program's 48-year history.

Davis, in her eighth year at the helm, passed the team's previous coach Terri Mason (129 wins) and 12 other coaches to move into the top spot in the record books.

Wins haven't come easy this season for the youngest Scots' team in Davis' tenure, but they've shown a never-give-up attitude, which certainly was on display tonight. Wooster (6-15) and Albion (3-18) split the first two sets, but then the Scots dug deep to power past the Britons by set scores of 25-22, 19-25, 29-27, and 28-26.

It appeared the match could go five sets, as Wooster trailed 11-5 early in the fourth. The Scots battled back, though, as they tied it up at 17-17, and then Savannah Moore caught the Britons off guard with a lob serve that just cleared the net for an ace to give them their first lead of the set (18-17). Wooster and Albion went back-and-forth down the stretch, but the Scots prevailed to net Davis her milestone win.

Another highlight for the Scots came at the service line, as they totaled 14 aces, their most in a single match since 2010. Moore had six of them, including the critical one mentioned above, while Ksenia Klue chipped in four, and Rachel Sell and Lydia Webster added two apiece.

Webster led the Scots' hitters with 14 kills, which tied her career-high, while Moore recorded a double-double with 10 kills and a team-best 19 digs. Also standing out on the attack was Mayia Karayianni with seven kills and zero errors on 17 swings – the best statistical output of her young career.

Other solid efforts came from Brittany Nicholson (17 assists), Sydney Virgin (15 assists), Anna Emmick (5 blocks), Kaitlin Banko (8 digs), and Laura Sherer (6 digs).

Wooster will look to carry over this positive momentum when it visits North Coast Athletic Conference foe Kenyon College (4-17, 0-3 NCAC) on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
