Scots' Moore Named NCAC Volleyball Player of the Week

Savannah Moore

Senior Savannah Moore from The College of Wooster's volleyball team was tabbed as the North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Tuesday.

Moore played in key part in helping the Fighting Scots to their first 5-0 start since 2011. She recorded two triple-doubles at the Bearcat Challenge with 15 assists, 12 digs, and 10 kills against Muskingum University, and 16 digs, 13 assists, and 11 kills against Frostburg State University.

Earlier in the week, Moore notched a double-double in the season-opening sweep over Thiel College, and in the five matches overall, she produced 2.53 kills, 2.53 digs, and 2.32 assists per set.

The outside hitter and setter is Wooster's first volleyball student-athlete to earn conference player-of-the-week accolades since Paige Parker on Sept. 24, 2012. Also noteworthy, it marked the second weekly honor for Moore, who earned one of the conference's weekly awards during the 2015 track & field season for her throwing debut at the Fighting Scots Invitational.

Next for Moore and her teammates, they travel to Wilmington College for a 7 p.m. non-conference tilt on Wednesday.
