Webster Named First-Team All-NCAC

Lydia Webster

Lydia Webster of The College of Wooster volleyball team earned first-team All-North Coast Athletic Conference honors, as announced by the league office in conjuncture with the NCAC Tournament at Springfield, Ohio on Saturday afternoon.

Webster, the first first-team selection by a Fighting Scot since alumna Lizzi Beal in 2011, really elevated her game during the conference's regular season. In eight conference matches, Webster averaged 2.74 kills and 1.09 blocks per set.

In the match with Hiram College, Webster smashed down a career-best 18 kills, the most by a Scot since alumna Savannah Moore had 18 against Allegheny College during the 2014 NCAC Tournament.

Then, in her very next college match, Webster recorded a double-double with 14 blocks and 12 kills at Denison University. Notable, the 14 blocks broke Wooster's single-match record for the 25-point rally scoring era, that's been the scoring format for college volleyball since 2008.

In the conference finale, Webster recorded 15 kills against Kenyon College, putting her over 900 for her career, and she later moved into the top-10 in program history on "Senior Day" versus Case Western Reserve University.

The all-conference citation is Webster's second, and the middle and outside hitter was previously a honorable mention selection in 2014.
