The College of Wooster volleyball team sent the largest senior class in recent program history out on a positive note, as the Fighting Scots topped Case Western Reserve University 22-25, 28-26, 17-25, 25-16, 20-18 in a "senior day" thriller on Saturday afternoon at Timken Gymnasium.

Senior Marija Cyvas was the main focal point of Wooster's (14-11) attack all afternoon with a career-high 16 kills, one better than the 15 she logged earlier this season against Hanover College. In fact, classmate Eleri Miller also upped her career-high in kills during the win with 13, while senior Ashley Plassard was right behind with 12.

Overall, Wooster logged 66 kills on the afternoon, the second-most in a five-set match during the current scoring era.

Sophomore Meghan Botsch dished out a career-best 56 assists, and that's tied for the second-most in a five-set match in the current scoring era. Of note, Autumn Berry was the other Scot with 56 assists in a five-set match, a feat she accomplished against CWRU (17-12) during a 3-2 Wooster win in 2012.

Senior Eva Stebel rounded out the career afternoons with 17 digs, and it marked the first time the defensive specialist reached double digits.

Other stats leaders included senior Gabrielle Basinski with 30 digs and Plassard's seven blocks. Plassard moved into the program's career top-10 list during the match, and she'll enter the North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament at 99 on the year.

CWRU's Karley King's 23 kills marked the match-high, while the Spartans' Anna Jaskoviak tallied 29 digs.

Wooster takes on sixth-seeded Denison University (11-14) on Friday at 3 p.m. at Wittenberg University's Pam Evans Smith Arena. The winner advances to play third-seeded Hiram College (20-4) at 7 p.m.
