Lydia Spidell

  • Title:
    Volunteer Asst. Coach

Lydia Spidell, who capped her career at The College of Wooster with first-team All-North Coast Athletic Conference volleyball honors, is now a volunteer assistant coach at her alma mater.

A two-time all-conference selection, the former Lydia Webster’s name is found throughout the program’s record book, especially when it comes to blocking. Her 269 blocks are the eighth-most in program history. As a senior, Spidell set the program’s record for the current scoring era with 14 blocks at Denison University. She led the team in kills as a sophomore and junior and was within the top three on the team as a first-year and senior.

Spidell graduated in 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in English and now works in the College's Admissions department. She married Aaron Spidell, a former standout outfielder for the Fighting Scots' baseball team in July 2020.
