Both College of Wooster cross country teams finished among the top-10 of NCAA Div. III teams at the All-Ohio Collegiate Championships, held Friday afternoon at the Elvin R. King Course in Cedarville, Ohio, as the Fighting Scot men were seventh and the women 10th.

The annual meet brings together harriers from across the Buckeye State, with student-athletes from all three NCAA divisions plus NAIA running in the same race, and it is also unique in that it scores the top-seven finishers, instead of the top-five like at most meets.

Wooster's men's squad, which finished 20th overall out of the 43 schools, featured two of the top-20 individual finishers in Div. III – Joe David and Blake Pecoraro. David traveled the 8K course in 26:19.49, taking 16th out of the 284 runners (and 79th of 569 overall), and Pecoraro crossed moments later in 19th (26:23.08).

Derrick Marshall placed 57th among the crowded field (27:27.64), while exactly one second behind was teammate Albert Darling in 59th (27:28.64). The Scots' fifth and sixth scorers were seniors William Wojtkiewicz and Karl Stemen, who earned 76th (27:51.72) and 87th (27:57.07), respectively, and freshman Kent Nakamoto completed the team scoring in 121st (28:28.00).

Pacing the women's team, which improved one spot in the Div. III standings from last fall, was Lauren Buyan. With a 6K time of 23:46.18, the Wooster senior came in 31st within her own division as well as 94th among 503 total competitors.

Rachelle Herrin and Kayla Zboran came through next, running in 62nd (24:38.44) and 68th (24:46.66), respectively, and also grouped closely together were Mackenzie Kellar in 77th (24:58.20), Erin Andrews-Sharer in 82nd (25:03.09), and Gabriella Neubauer in 90th (25:07.99).

Wrapping up the Scots' scoring was Gabriella Gilfoy, who placed 144th (26:16.91).

In two weeks, Wooster will be at the #JennaStrong Fall Classic, hosted by Wilmington College.
