Competing against over 40 schools from across all NCAA divisions, The College of Wooster cross country teams posted strong results at Wilmington College's #JennaStrong Fall Classic, as the Fighting Scot men and women placed fifth and 12th, respectively, on Friday in southwestern Ohio.

For the second consecutive year, a large field of teams came together to honor the memory of a Wilmington runner, Jenna Parlette, who collapsed at a meet last season and passed away three days later.

Also noteworthy, today's race was held in the same location as the upcoming NCAA Div. III Great Lakes Regional (Nov. 15) and NCAA Div. III Championships (Nov. 22), which gave the Scots a unique opportunity to tune-up on a course they will return to later this season.

With nearly 400 individuals in action, Wooster's men's team stood out with its five scorers all finishing inside the top-60. Pacing the group was Blake Pecoraro in 12th-place (26:04.46), with teammate Joe David just seconds behind in 16th-place (26:11.92). The Scots' next three runners all crossed the finish line close together as well, as Alex Chabraja took 47th in 26:59.06, Albert Darling took 58th in 27:13.70, and Derrick Marshall was 60th in 27:19.61.

Over on the women's side, Lauren Buyan led the way with a 24th-place finish (19:15.06), which was only 12 seconds away from a top-10 placement. Fellow senior Erin Andrews-Sharer had the squad's second-best run with a time of 19:58.15, good for 57th overall, while Kayla Zboran (20:09.33), and newcomers Mackenzie Kellar (20:20.56) and Gabriella Neubauer (21:00.66) rounded out the scoring in 71st, 83rd, and 121st, respectively.

Wooster will now set its sights on the North Coast Athletic Conference Championships, which will be held at Denison University on Nov. 1.
