With the NCAA Div. III Great Lakes Regional Championships right around the corner, The College of Wooster's men's and women's cross country teams got in one last competition, as the Fighting Scots hosted their annual Twilight 5K on Friday evening, along with Grove City College and Hiram College, at the L.C. Boles Golf Course.

Both Wooster's men and women had three of the top five runners in their respective races, but it was the women's team that stole the headlines, with Lauren Buyan and Kayla Zboran locking up the top two spots. Buyan crossed the finish line first, ahead of 30 others student-athletes, in a time of 18:28, while Zboran was just eight seconds behind in 18:36.

Mackenzie Kellar was next for the Scots with a fifth-place effort in 19:22, while Rachelle Herrin (19:25), Gabriella Neubauer (19:25), and Erin Andrews-Sharer (19:26) came through as a group in seventh, eighth, and ninth, respectively.

Over on the men's side, it was Alex Chabraja that recorded Wooster's best finish, as the sophomore matched his performance from last year with another second-place showing, this time clocking in at 15:37.

The trio of Blake Pecoraro (15:43), Joe David (15:46), and Roy Hadfield (15:54) came in 4-5-6, while Derrick Marshall (16:14), Albert Darling (16:16), and William Wojtkiewicz (16:19) took 9-10-11 in the field of 45 competitors.

The Scots will now turn their attention to next weekend's regionals, which take place Nov. 15 at Wilmington, Ohio.
