The College of Wooster men's cross country team finished in the middle of the pack of the five schools that elected to run in the North Coast Athletic Conference Preview meet, and in fifth-place of the seven total squads, while the Fighting Scots' women's team also came in fifth overall at Gambier, Ohio.

In the men's 5K, Wooster scored 104 points as part of a very tight pack between the second- and fifth-place finishers – runner-up Denison University (93), regionally-ranked University of Mount Union (98), and Mount Vernon Nazarene University (103). Oberlin College (23), another regionally-ranked competitor, won the meet, while the Scots were comfortably ahead of NCAC foes Wittenberg University (134) and Kenyon College (140).

There were 109 participants.

The women's race was a 5K as well. Wooster had three of the top-15 individual finishers and tallied 103 points as a team, while regionally-ranked Mount Union (51) took the team championship ahead of Oberlin (61), Denison (82), and Kenyon (85). The Scots beat out Wittenberg (147) as well as Mount Vernon Nazarene (179).

Emani Kelley, who earned 25th (20:35.3), contributed to the team score, as did Jacquelyn White (21:36.3), who edged out teammate Katherine Wittig (21:37.5) at the line.

Next Saturday, the Scots will compete at the Otterbein Invitational.
