Kayla Zboran raced her way to All-Ohio honors, headlining The College of Wooster's results at the annual All-Ohio Intercollegiate Championships, held under cool conditions at the Elvin R. King Cross Country Course in Cedarville, Ohio, on Friday afternoon. Wooster's women's team finished in 10th-place within the 18 NCAA Div. III teams, and the Fighting Scots' men's squad took 11th.

The meet brings together harriers from across the Buckeye State, with student-athletes from all three NCAA divisions plus NAIA running in the same race. There were nearly 600 women's runners (592) and 47 teams, of which Wooster placed 27th, and on the men's side, the Scots were 31st overall as 647 competitors completed the 8K.

Zboran, a junior, traveled the crowded 6K in a 23:18.39 time, which was 18th-fastest among Div. III runners, and 84th overall. She showed significant improvement from last year's 68th-place Div. III finish (24:46.66 at the same course) in leading Wooster to a second consecutive top-10 team performance.

In a close pack were teammates Mackenzie Kellar, Collier Summay, and Emani Kelley as they came in 53rd (23:58.37), 58th (24:04.45), and 62nd (24:09.43) within Div. III, respectively. Katherine Wittig was the Scots' fifth scorer, as she took 120th (25:15.92).

The men's race included a pair of top-60 efforts from Wooster. Blake Pecoraro, competing for the first time in three weeks, was the 39th Div. III runner to cross the line, and 174th overall, with a time of 26:35.79 – about 12 seconds off his pace from last season when he was All-Ohio. Alex Chabraja was not far behind Pecoraro, as the former earned 53rd-place (26:57.48).

Rounding out the team's Div. III scoring were Albert Darling in 90th (27:35.13), Jason Solinsky in 110th (27:54.88), and Simon Weyer in 118th (28:03.60).

The Scots will be among another large crowd of competitors at the #JennaStrong Fall Classic, hosted by Wilmington College, in two weeks.
