Zboran Leads Wooster At NCAA Regional Meet

Men's 8K Results | Women's 6K Results

The College of Wooster men's and women's cross country teams finished near the middle of the pack at Saturday's NCAA Div. III Great Lakes Region Cross Country Championships, which took place in Terre Haute, Ind.

Among 33 teams, Wooster's women placed 21st, while the men took 24th of 36.

Junior Kayla Zboran posted the top finish on the day for the Fighting Scots, navigating the 6K at 23:24.9. Sophomore Mackenzie Kellar also finished amongst the top half of the field, crossing in 104th at 24:20.9.

Wooster's next two scorers, first-year Emani Kelley and junior Katherine Wittig finished in a crowded group just over 25 minutes. Kelley took 132nd overall at 25:01.6, while Wittig's 25:13.6 was good for 143rd. First-year Collier Summay rounded out the scorers crossing in 160th.

Junior Blake Pecoraro led the way for the Wooster men, navigating the 8K at 26:53.3 to place 76th. The junior finished it a tight pack as the 13 runners in front of the all-conference performer were all within eight seconds of Pecoraro.

Senior Albert Darling finished in the top-half, just missing out on a top-100 finish. Darling crossed 103rd at 27:18.5. First-year Brian Lief and junior Herbert Sizek finished within six seconds of each other to place 141st and 153rd respectively.

First-year David Westcott rounded out the scorers taking 180th.
