Behind an all-region run from senior Kayla Zboran, The College of Wooster posted a solid performance at the NCAA Div. III Great Lakes Region Cross Country Championships held at West Ottawa Golf Course at Holland, Mich., as the men raced to a 17th-place finish out of 36 teams while the women came in 21st out of 31 teams.

Zboran, a two-time All-North Coast Athletic Conference runner, led the Fighting Scots with a 6K time of 22:11.14 en route to a 14th-place finish and her first-career all-region certificate amidst the 232-competitor field.

Notable, Zboran is the first Scot runner on the women's side to earn all-region honors since Erin Plews-Ogan in 2012.

Following Zboran was junior Ashley Ferguson, who ran a clip of 24:35.6 for 132nd place, while senior Emily Reid followed closely behind with a time of 24:29.7. Junior Mackenzie Kellar (24:45.7) and sophomore Collier Summay (24:51.3) placed 141st and 145th respectively to round out the scorers for Wooster.

In the men's 8K race, sophomore Jacob Denbeaux trekked the course in 26:30.8 to lead the Scots and log a 77th-place finish from the 249-runner field. Senior Blake Pecoraro followed up with an 87th-place finish (26.36.9), crossing the line behind a close-knit pack which featured four runners separate by eight tenths-of-a-second.

Sophomore Jackson Feinknopf missed out on a top-100 finish by two seconds, running a time of 26:44 to finished 102nd. Senior Alex Chabraja (27:03.4) and first-year Aedan Pettit (27:17.3) rounded out Wooster's scorers with 118th- and 128th-place finishes respectively.

Zboran now awaits the announcement of the NCAA Div. III Championships selections, to see if she will qualify as an individual after the at-large team selections are announced at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 13. The top-seven individuals not on a team qualifier from each region compete at the championships on Saturday, Nov. 19 at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park in Louisville, Ky. Zboran is currently the ninth individual from a non-automatic advancing team, and would need three at-large teams selected from the Great Lakes Regional in order to move up to the seventh individual spot.
