Wooster Concludes Season at Great Lakes Regional Championships

The College of Wooster cross country teams competed at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Championships on Saturday afternoon at Powell, Ohio, with the men placing 17th and the women 25th amongst the 36-team field.

Senior Mackenzie Kellar was the first Fighting Scot to cross on the women's side, running the 6,000-meter course in 24:35.5. Classmate Ashley Ferguson followed with a 132-place time of 25:11.5, just a stride ahead of third-place team finisher Zoe Covey, who crossed at 25:12.0 flat.

Rounding out Wooster's women's scorers were sophomore Cobi Warstler (25:25.1) and first-year Emma Busch (25:57.5). Warstler placed 141st overall and Busch 160th out of the 247-participant field.

On the men's side, junior Jackson Feinknopf was the top Scot with a 60th-place time of 26:52.2 over the 8,000-meter course.

Junior David Westcott came in 81st place (27:09.1), followed by junior Brian Lief in 91st (27:19.7).

Senior Geoffrey Carney-Knisely (27:55.1) and sophomore Miki Rae (28:05.4) placed 125th and 132nd, respectively, to wrap up Wooster's top-five finishers. The men's field consisted of 242 participants.
