Men and Women Finish in Top 10 of All-Ohio Championships

AKRON, Ohio -- The cross country teams raced at the All-Ohio Championships on Saturday with the men finishing in fifth and the women ninth in the Division III standings.

In a field mixed with runners from Division I, Division II, Division III and the NAIA, senior David Westcott finished 21st overall and fourth among DIII runners with a time of 24:55.3. He was named All-Ohio for his top-20 performance.

Senior Brian Lief was 70th overall 24th in Division III with a time of 25:45.6. Not far behind was classmate Jackson Feinknopf, who finished 78th overall and 28th in scoring (25:51.7)

Rounding out the top five and scoring was junior Miki Rae in 42nd (26:22.8) and senior Simon Weyer in 51st.

On the women's side, freshman Isabelle Hoover led the Scots with a time of 23:40.1 to put her 91st overall and 21st among Divison III runners.

Senior Emani Kelley followed in 34th at 23:57.3, and freshman Kayla Bertholf scored in 40th with a time of 23:59.2. Finishing one after another, sophomore Emma Busch (25:01.3) and junior Audrey Cordova (25:02.1) finished in 73rd and 74th, respectively, to round out scoring.

Otterbein University swept the day, finishing with 37 points on the men's side and 52 on the women's. The Wooster men scored a 149, and the women put together a final tally of 242.

The teams will be back in action Oct. 12 when they compete at the Wilmington Fall Classic.
