2019 Hall of Fame Inductees

Purpose of the W Association Hall of Fame

To recognize individuals who have distinguished themselves in the field of intercollegiate athletics at the College of Wooster, either by virtue of their performance on athletic teams representing the College, or by meritorious efforts on behalf of the athletic program at the College.
 

Eligibility Criteria for Induction as a Student-Athlete, Coach, or Athletic Administrator

  • If being considered for athletic accomplishments, the nominee should have performed at an exemplary level and been (and remains) of good character.
  • If being considered for coaching or athletic administrator accomplishments, the nominee should have spent the major part of his/her career at The College of Wooster, and absent any unusual or extraordinary circumstance, is no longer coaching at Wooster.
  • If a student-athlete, the nominee's class must be out of college at least 10 years.
  • To be considered for induction in the first year of eligibility, the nominee should have been extraordinary among all College of Wooster athletes.
  • The nominee does not have to be a graduate of The College of Wooster.
  • A nominee may be selected posthumously.
  • Current W Association board members are not eligible for induction.

 

Eligibility Criteria for Induction as a Distinguished Athletic Alumni, Friend, or Volunteer/Staff

  • A maximum of one (1) recipient per induction class will be selected.
  • The candidate had a significant positive impact on the student-athletes, athletic department, and the College.
  • The candidate is/was well respected by the students, peers, and campus community.
  • The candidate may be active in a variety of fields, including, but not limited to: athletics, science, health, art & literature, entertainment, business & finance, government & politics, education, and humanities.
  • The candidate has demonstrated distinction and/or leadership in their career and/or philanthropic endeavors.
  • The candidate is recognized by the College as a person of high moral character and integrity.
  • Current W Association board members are not eligible for induction.

Nominations are due Feb. 1 each year. Nominations received after Feb. 1 will roll into the next year's nominating cycle.
