The 11th-ranked College of Wooster baseball team downed host Oberlin College twice, by scores of 18-2 and 17-2, on Tuesday afternoon at Dill Field.

Wooster (17-6, 8-0 North Coast Athletic Conference) tagged Oberlin (12-13, 4-6 NCAC) starter Musa Matiwane for four runs in the first inning, the first of which came in on junior Dan Harwood's RBI single. Senior Garrett Crum followed with a double and junior Nick Strausbaugh's two-run triple capped the scoring.

Sticking with Strausbaugh, the Fighting Scots' center fielder came to the dish in the fifth inning needing a home run for the cycle, and while he didn't get it, the junior did reach base safely for the fourth time after being hit by a pitch. Leading up to that plate appearance, Strausbaugh doubled and singled in his two trips to the dish during Wooster's nine-run third inning. In addition to Strausbaugh, senior Chandler Dippman and junior Dan Gail both drove in two runs, as the Scots broke the game wide open, 13-1.

Wooster wasn't done just yet, with Crum driving in his third and fourth runs of the contest on his fourth-inning two-bagger. Junior Harry Witwer-Dukes added to the lead with a RBI fielder's choice.

In the sixth, freshman Tyler Chumita delivered a memorable first collegiate hit, as he blasted a 2-0 offering over the right field fence for the round-tripper. Chumita added a second RBI an inning later when his ground out plated classmate Ben Hines, who singled through the left side to start the inning.

Senior Brian Murray upped his record to 3-1. The right-hander allowed two runs on seven hits in six innings before giving way to freshman Dylan Carr, who fired a shutout inning in his collegiate debut.

Matiwane gave up seven runs (five earned) on seven hits in two-plus innings.

While Wooster did score in the first for the 12th time over its last 13 games, it was ultimately the third inning when the Scots started to break the nightcap open. That's when Witwer-Dukes followed Crum's RBI single with a two-run double down the right field line.

Wooster kept extending its lead in each subsequent trip to the dish, starting with junior Tyler Iversen's leadoff long ball, which set the stage for a three-run fourth. In the fifth, Witwer-Dukes' run-producing three-bagger put the bow on a five-spot, while Crum's two-run double wrapped up Wooster's four-run sixth. Senior Harrison Walls got in on the fun with a solo homer in the seventh, and in doing so, he's the 12th Scot to go deep this season.

Sophomore Evan Faxon (2-1) posted a similar line to Murray with six innings of six-hit, two-run ball, while senior Wyatt Linde turned in a lightning-quick one-two-three seventh.

Crum powered Wooster's offense to the tune of a 7-for-9 doubleheader that included nine RBI, three doubles, and three runs scored. Worth noting, two games removed from becoming the 20th Scot with 150 career RBI, Crum's already up to a tie for 14th-place with 160.

Harwood was equally as impressive with a 6-for-8 showing. Harwood scored six times and knocked in five.

On the afternoon, Wooster pounded out 35 hits, while five Scots had at least four RBI.

Brendan Mapes and Jack Marsjanik both went deep for Oberlin, and they finished with three hits apiece.

Next, Wooster hosts Case Western Reserve University (18-11) at 4 p.m. on Thursday.
