Junior Dan Harwood headlined the quintet of Fighting Scots named to D3baseball.com's All-Mideast Region Team as a repeat first-team selection, while the designated hitter was joined on the squad by second-team selections Chandler Dippman and Harry Witwer-Dukes, and third-team honorees Garrett Crum and Jacob Stuursma. D3baseball.com announced its all-region teams on Thursday in advance of this weekend's NCAA Div. III Super Regional Tournaments.

Harwood again ranks as one of the Mideast Region's top all-around offensive players. He's eighth nationally heading into this week's Heidelberg University Super Regional with a .545 on-base percentage, while his average (.437, 69-for-158), hits (69), RBI (49), and doubles (18) all rank in the top 50 nationally. The smooth-swinging left-hander is tops on the team in walks (27) and has been hit by a pitch 12 times this spring.

Dippman, now a two-time D3baseball.com All-Region honoree as a utility player, has really left his mark on the mound this spring. There, he's 9-3 with a 3.69 ERA, and he ranks just outside the top 10 in Div. III in victories. Dippman's gone the distance in four of his 12 starts, and he's logged a team-leading 75 2/3 innings this spring.

Witwer-Dukes, who made his debut on the all-region team, is in his first full season as a starter for the 20th-ranked College of Wooster. Witwer-Dukes' 56 RBI are ninth nationally, while he's four shy of logging the 15th 60-RBI season in program history. The Scots' multi-position star has reached base safely in his last 24 games.

Crum, one of the top hitters in program history, recently moved into the top 10 in RBI, and he enters play this weekend two base knocks shy of 200 for his career. The Scots' staple at first base is in the top 50 nationally in RBI (31st) and hits (46th) with 51 and 68, respectively. He's had at least 50 RBI in three straight seasons.

Stuursma, thriving in his first season as the Scots' starting shortstop after two seasons as the regular second baseman, leads the Scots with 70 base knocks, and he's tops on the team with 53 runs. Both of those totals rank within the top 35 in Div. III, and he's just outside the top 100 with a .395 average (70-for-177), which is tied for second on the team.

The American Baseball Coaches Association is scheduled to announce its all-region honorees on Tuesday, May 28.

Wooster (30-13) takes on Heidelberg (33-13) in a best-of-three super regional this weekend at Peaceful Valley in Tiffin, Ohio. Game one is set for noon on Friday with game two and game three (if necessary) on the docket for Saturday starting at 11 a.m. More information can be found HERE.
